About Maurice

Maurice Tannenbaum has always had an eye for beauty. He was 14 years old when he started cutting and setting the hair of the women in his working-class neighborhood, and this star quickly rose in the world of hair design, hair color, and makeup. Maurice became style director for the Plaza Hotel and Saks Fifth Avenue in New York and Philadelphia. He styled actresses and celebrities and became the VIP stylist at the plaza. Maurice was discovered by Moroccan royalty – La La Hasna, Princess of Morocco – and flown to their palace to do hair for the present king’s sisters (at the time, the King was the Prince), as well as being flown to the four corners of the earth to do hair and makeup of many celebrities and non Celebrities. He is renowned for his technical expertise in color and hair design and always seeks innovation

In 1977, Maurice discovered the first supermodel, Gia Carangi, and brought her to Wilhelmina Modeling Agency—within one year, she became America’s first Top Model. He has also worked with photographers, creating hair and makeup designs for print ads for luxury clients, such as European Magazines and Chanel. Maurice later moved to Paris to do hair and makeup for magazine covers and other photographers, as well as Chanel and other brands.

In his illustrious career, Maurice has trained many people and found countless products for distributors. Today, as a multi-talented hair designer and owner of the top Main Line Philadelphia salon OMG Salon, which will be changing its name now to Synchronicity, Maurice remains sought after for his exceptional talent and ability to bring out the beauty in every woman.

Hillary Cogan

Hillary Cogan, trained by Maurice, began working at OMG (now Synchronicity) over a decade ago. Thirteen years later she has developed a fantastic clientele for herself. As a mom to her two daughters two days a week, Hillary can work full-time, caring for her illustrious clientele. Her clientele range in style and age, as she has a knack for making them both stylish and beautiful. Hillary is known for her coloring and cutting, and she has indeed gotten the best of Maurice’s training and has taken it to another level! Hillary is an artist with Color, and I can say the same about her cuts. And continues to grow her artistry.

Heather Linker

Heather Linker trained with Mr. Tannenbaum almost 30 years ago, and – since then, she has also worked in Paris and New York City. Heather has quite an illustrative clientele of professional women, fashion leaders, and artists. “My first impression of Heather and the reason I wanted to work with her was that she was truly an artist herself, most likely why she attracts artsy, fashionable women and men as her clientele. We have worked on and off together for all those years and always find ourselves back creating together Heather’s concerns for the integrity of her client’s hair are something we share.”

Her work is very Individual for all of her clients; they all have complete trust in how she chooses how they look. Heather seems to know who they are as soon as she meets them and gives them something that matches their personality both in Color and in the cut. She is Joyful, and most clients choose to spend time with her. Heather is innovative, creative, and full of information, which she can share with her clients.

Heather Linker

We have worked on and off together for all those years and always find ourselves back creating together. Sary Pfister

Sary Pfister has been with OMG (Now Synchronicity) for 18 years. She came right out of cosmetology school wanting to work only at OMG. When they met, Maurice knew that this girl had a unique talent. The day she appeared for an interview, Maurice was having a training class, and instead of conducting the class, Maurice allowed Sary to create a hairstyle in front of all the assistants attending the class. “I had never done this before, but I knew Sary could show us how talented she was, and she did. I immediately hired her to be my assistant.

She was the most difficult assistant that I had to train! Sary never picked up the concepts I was trying to teach her.” In frustration, Maurice threw her on the floor and thought she would either make it. He soon realized that she had her style concept and was anxious to do what pleased her in styling hair. Soon after, Sary developed a strong book, most likely quicker than anyone else who had gone on the floor before her. If you are lucky enough to get an appointment with Sary when she is in town, not styling or coloring or cutting someone elsewhere in the country, you can experience her creativity and professionalism.
